My SEO & AEO Services

My SEO and AEO services are built around local businesses that need anything from basic, affordable SEO to full technical SEO monthly retainers.

There’s a version of SEO that costs thousands a month, involves a team of 8 people and a lot of very impressive-looking spreadsheets. I don’t do that because most small businesses don’t need it and, frankly, most can’t afford it.

What smaller businesses do need is someone who knows what actually helps get you found by your customers. That means getting you found in the right searches, making a good impression when people land on your site, and giving them a really clear reason to get in touch.

Let’s talk about your business

Not sure what you need? Tell me about your business and what’s not working online, and I’ll give you an honest assessment of whether and how I can help.

Local SEO

Local SEO is your bread and butter as a small business. If you’re a business that relies on local customers – a tradesperson, a salon, a restaurant, a dental practice, a letting agent – then local SEO is what gets you in front of potential customers when they’re actively searching.

That means your Google Business Profile is set up and optimised, your site is sending the right local signals and you’re showing up when someone nearby searches for what you do.

Good local SEO is all about appearing in the right place for the right search at the right moment (when someone’s ready to book, call or buy).

Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO)

AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews have changed how people find businesses. If your site isn’t structured in a way these tools can read and reference, you’re invisible to a growing chunk of potential customers.

AEO looks at how your content is structured, whether you have reviews and citations, and whether your site actually answers the questions people are asking. It sits alongside traditional SEO rather than replacing it, but ignore it entirely and you risk falling behind.

A big part of SEO and AEO is schema markup, code that’s added to a website’s HTML to help search engines understand content context. Without it, your site will struggle to be understood by either traditional search or AI tools.

SEO Audits

Not sure why you’re not showing up? An SEO audit is a good place to start, and your first basic SEO audit is completely free with Georgia Petrie SEO.

That’s right, a free basic SEO audit of your site, plus a consultation about the work I’d advise, tailored to you. There’s no obligation for paid work beyond this first audit. I’ll diagnose Core Web Vitals and page speed issues, review keyword rankings and your local SEO profile, and check for technical issues using Screaming Frog and SEMrush.

A more comprehensive, paid audit is also available, including a dedicated ecommerce SEO audit for online stores. This identifies technical and indexing issues, content gaps and missed opportunities holding you back. You’ll get a clear report with specific actions that actually matter for a site like yours, rather than a long document full of things you’d need a developer to fix.

Not sure where to start?

If you’re not showing up at all, we start with visibility. If you’re showing up but not converting, we look at your content and site experience. Either way, the first step is a quick chat.

I offer a free initial conversation to talk through where you’re at, and from there we figure out the best suited, most affordable option for you, whether that’s the free basic audit, a paid audit, or jumping straight into the work. Most small businesses don’t need a full-scale technical audit and a six-month content strategy. I can look at what work you’ve already done, what effect it’s had, and what I’d advise if it were my own business.

SEO Copywriting

Words matter when it comes to building trust with potential customers. If someone lands on your site and the copy feels generic, vague or like it was knocked out in five minutes by ChatGPT, they’ll almost certainly leave.

When people repeatedly bounce out of a site quickly, this also tells Google your site likely isn’t reputable, which risks it being ranked lower.

I write copy that’s optimised for search without reading like it was written for search. That means the right keywords in the right places, written in a way people will actually read. Most visitors only skim a fraction of the words on a page, so every sentence has to earn its place.

Service pages, location pages, blog posts, homepage rewrites, whatever you need, I can handle it. Having spent years as a journalist before I worked in SEO, writing clearly and quickly is something I’m confident about.

Ecommerce SEO

If you’re running a Shopify, WooCommerce or any other online store, the rules shift slightly. You’re not just trying to rank, you’re trying to rank for the exact products people are about to buy.

That means collection pages and product descriptions that answer the question someone’s actually asking rather than restating the spec sheet, and metadata that gets the click instead of losing it to a competitor one row down on the results page.

I’ve worked across retail and ecommerce sites handling everything from full collection page rewrites and product description overhauls to fixing broken redirects, and missing schema.

If you’re not sure whether your product pages are doing their job, that’s exactly where a free basic audit would start.

Conversion & User Journeys

If you’re getting traffic but a low click-through rate and not getting the right enquiries, the problem isn’t your SEO, it’s usually something else. Slow page speeds, confusing user journeys, intrusive pop-ups, a lack of detail about what you actually offer, there’s all sorts of reasons people decide not to pick up the phone or finish a checkout.

I look at where people are dropping off, work out what’s causing the friction, then help you fix it.

In-house training and consultancy

Not every business wants to outsource everything. If you’ve got a marketing or editorial team who handle content day to day, sometimes what’s missing isn’t more hands, it’s confidence in making the right calls without checking every decision against an agency.

I run practical, jargon-free training sessions that cover whatever your team actually needs: how to write content that satisfies both search engines and AI tools, how to read and act on Search Console data, how to brief and review SEO copy, or how to think about site structure before a redesign goes wrong. Sessions are built around your business and your existing workflow rather than a generic course.

This also works well alongside a lighter-touch consultancy arrangement, where I’m available for occasional questions and reviews without a full retainer. If you want your team to get better at this rather than permanently relying on someone else for it, this is the option that gets you there.
